Bread-Making Made Easy

// 4.15.09 // 5 Comments » // Food & Fitness, My Daughter

I used to make homemade bread with a bread machine quite often. Then the bread machine broke and I never replaced it. A few weeks ago someone in my homeschooling co-op posted this link, which has apparently made the rounds on lots of news programs. Who knew making homemade bread could be so easy?

Raspberry Lemon Drop: The First Attempt

// 3.18.08 // 15 Comments » // Thriving

I’ve recently been sorta obsessed with this Lemon Drop cocktail. Specifically, the Raspberry Lemon Drop. I’ve been Googling recipes (of which there are a few variations) and today I gathered the ingredients. Then I got the kids involved in juicing the lemons.

The finished product was less than stellar, but it WAS my first try. The pathetic part? I have no cocktail shaker/mixer, so I had to shake it with ice in a tupperware. Yeah, that’s how cool I am.

I’m off now for my second attempt. I’ll strain the lemon juice better to get rid of the pulp and I’ll add more syrup – it was too bitter/sour.

BTW, I got the recipe and some good tips here.

OMG. This sounds so delish. And I don’t care what time it is, I’m including that splash of rum.
