Today I walked 6.5 miles in preparation for the 13-mile half-marathon I’ll be walking on November 18th in Philadelphia. This is my first marathon and I’m not quite sure what to expect. For example:

Are there places to stop to go to the bathroom?
I assume I don’t have to bring my own water, right?
Is it rude [...]

It’s been a busy week around here. Two Halloween parties, Trick-or-Treating, and lots of running around in general. But busy is good - keeps me away from the candy!

This fall our family joined a homeschool co-op group. The co-op is not designed to so much “teach” him as it is to expose him to new things and inspire him to want to learn more. And that is what it’s all about.

This afternoon my son went to a friend’s house to play.
Nothing unusual, right? He’s been to playdates before. He’s been without me before. But this time was a little different. It was the first time he’d gone to play with someone whose family I did not know really, really well.
