Why Have I Been Fighting It For SO LONG?
// 7.27.09 // Filed under: Parenting
I change my blog design with the seasons, and sometimes more often. When I procrastinate, I tinker with my blog (well, that or play video games). I get all tingly and knotty in the stomach when someone emails me about creating a blog design for them. Designing web sites is the only thing that can keep me up till all hours, as I code and photoshop and curse the incompatibility of browser platforms. I attended some advanced Geek Labs at BlogHer this year. And I mostly knew what everyone was talking about.
And yet for years now I have bitched and complained about how I can’t find my passion.
Duh.
I surrender.

“And yet for years now I have bitched and complained about how I can’t find my passion.”
I can relate!
For years I’ve been marketing Other People’s products and expertise.
Now it’s time to push mine.

Hi i respect your passion for designing websites. Human creativity rocks and neurons works to give remarkable results. I liked the flower background of your blog. Keep designing great looking sites.
I think a lot of us fight our passions because we think we shouldn’t be doing THAT, or because we don’t think we will be good enough, or whatever reason. Good for you surrendering! You can do that! You already have been doing it. The creativity will be awesome and doing something you love will be even better.

I love your blog design. You’re obviously very good at designing. Someday I’d love to be able to afford to hire someone to help me with mine. I’m putting you at the top of my “someday” list
By the way, I’m loving the Saturday Sharefest over at SITS. It’s my favorite SITS day now. Thanks for your excellent posts.

–>Just found your blog from blogfrog and it’s beautiful. I do HTML stuff all day long but don’t feel like I get to be as creative as I’d like because it’s mostly updating and fitting in within the CSS.

Thanks for the info- it turns out Microsoft’s bing really is making an impact, it seems to me your blog is getting a lot of search engine traffic from bing- have you found this to be the case?
The new design of your blog is great. It’s fresh and feels like summer!
I save your blog to my google feadreeder. Thanks for the great posts.
I agree, my mother told me the other day that she thought I had finally found my calling (blogging) because I can gripe and moan and talk about myself and other people will talk back. LOL!

You’ve been designing my website since 2001, updating it whenever I have changes (like last weekend). As one of your happy clients, I’m glad to read that you’ve discovered it’s your passion! I love your work, and you don’t stop until you’ve pleased your client.
As a working mom, it’s really hard now to pursue my passion in designing. I’m doing SEO now and I really have so little time in designing and coding.
