Wouldn’t You Like to Be a Shredder Too?

Kristen of Motherhood Uncensored started talking on Twitter about Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred Program and one thing led to another… And @shredheads was created.
I’ve got several of Jillian’s workouts available for free through Comcast On Demand, so I decided to go for it. Thirty days of 20-minute workouts sounds do-able and it’s great to have the motivation of a group. Kristen started a blog and asked all of us shredders to post an intro on our own blogs. With a bit of trepidation, here are my “before” stats. (I used that trick they use on TV where you try to look as skanky as possible so your “after” photos seem even more awesome.)

Code Name: PHAT Mommy
Tag Line: I’m neither apple nor pear, but cantaloupe-shaped: one on my stomach and one on my ass.
Weight: 185
Goal: Get down to 145 and get into an exercise habit
Diet Plan: Follow Isagenix plan, drink tons of water
Personal Rules: Consume bagel, dessert and alcohol only once per week
Shred Plan: Choose one program daily from Comcast On Demand selection.
Starting with Level 1, 1 – 5 lb weights. Continue regular runs for my marathon training.
Day one wasn’t too bad. The pushups were the hardest part for me. Then I threw up half the night last night, so I’m not sure what’s going to happen today. I’m hoping to feel well enough later today to get in day two’s workout.

Tucker suggested that he take my “before” pictures with me wearing no makeup and right after I first woke up. His reasoning was that the after pictures would look DYNAMITE!
Yeah. Not so much. Even with makeup, they still turned out horrible. Glad to see someone else with enough cojones to post before pictures.
I âÂÂ¥ you.

Working out doesn’t helped much as of my experience. Have you tried the Idiot Proof Diet. Since I’ve joined it I’ve lost 20 Lbs. and I am pretty satisfied with my weight now.
You’re so talented at writing thanks for sharing.
You don’t look like you’re at 185. But I did like the skanky comment!
I’m getting up the moxie to turn to Jillian “On Demand”, after reading this, I will after work tonight.
How about that, you’re an inspiration!

All day I wondered, did she think I meant she looked like she weighs more than 185? I didn’t, you look like there’s, much less of you there.
Just want to be clear here!
I would suggest to do all the workouts, at least at the starting, under the guidance of an expert because working out exercises seeing TV shows may be injurious or not as effective as you expect. Similarly, for the diet plans, consult your dietitian.
So, did you stick with the Isogenix plan? I can’t find any updates since this one specifically about Isogenix. Any input would be appreciated.
Miss Tori´s last blog ..Thank you!
I just stumbled across your blog through SITS (I just started). I love this post and I love the 30 day shred…where else can you can a great workout that fits into a mommy schedule.
