It Took Me 10 Years to Discover the Clear Shower Curtain

// 3.19.09 // Filed under: My Daughter, Parenting

3-17-09bathNot literally, of course. I mean, I knew clear shower liners existed, but I’ve always used a beige-colored anti-mold type (which, really? no such thing as anti-mold in a shower liner). Then a week ago when Target was out of the beige-colored anti-mold shower curtain liner, I bought a clear plastic one. And – whoa – let the bath fun begin!

My daughter is a splasher. She kicks and flips (like Ariel, the Little Mermaid) and splashes and gets everything wet. And I get really annoyed because I have a whole bathroom to wipe down. But with the clear liner, I just close the curtain, duck my head under the outer cloth curtain, and let her go crazy with the water. I put my face right up to the clear liner and she throws sponges and cups full of water at my face. And yet, I stay dry! And so does the bathroom. I am a genius.

Let her at it with a can of shaving cream. Then the fun really starts.

Great idea Cambie! My daughter has had this irrational fear of shaving cream in the past when we tried to play with it. Maybe I’ll try again now that she’s older.

  3. I love it!! My kids are all too big for mommy to stay in the bathroom & play but I will share this idea with my daycare moms. Have a fun day!!

  4. Anti-mold shower curtain? I didnt even know they existed. That was a good idea though. Now they need clear anti-mold shower curtains!

  5. I think modesty would keep me from using a clear shower curtain. Not that anyone would want to look, I know I wouldn’t. I guess I like the idea of an opaque curtain being my last line of defense if someone walks in on me in the shower (as if the steam, water noise, and off-key singing wouldn’t be a clue).

I don’t have to deal with mold too much. Crazily enough my Steam Shower is pretty self sufficient. I simply use the shower and the ozone sterilization system turns on automatically. I think I clean it once a month. THat about does it.

  7. Cool idea. Just wish they would invent a curtain that absorbs bad singing…
