I think homeschooling is great if a dual income is not required to stay alive. I like Ron's talks of getting government out of our schools.

John's last blog post..Snowshoeing Extreme?

Ron Paul is definitely bringing a lot of good ideas to the table, it's just unfortunate that he has no chance in winning this election. It's refreshing to see something different besides the mush of other candidates to choose from.

In terms of schooling, John Carmack made a great point during his Keynote at Quakecon. He said that tt's easy to get bog down in how poorly the school system is doing, but kids are being born into the richest environment ever with the Internet so he's optimistic that smart kids will still do good things.

It starts at 4 minutes and 8 seconds. I couldn't figure out how to permalink to that part like Google Video.

Alot of people seem to think homeschooled children don't get the social skills practice that other kids do. But Ron's right. That's a HUGE misconception about homeschooled kids. Sounds like you've got someone in your corner!
