The Spears Debate Gone Mad

// 12.31.07 // Filed under: Link Love, Parenting

I’ve blogged before about a parent’s ultimate responsibility to turn off the TV when they don’t like something. Now there is a very interesting debate going on between Queen of Spain and Dad Gone Mad: Should Nickelodeon cancel Zoey 101 in light of Jamie Lynn Spears pregnancy? Should they address the issue through a TV special on teenage pregnancy? Does Nick have a “responsibility” here? I say no. Check out their posts and comments and join in the fun!

FUN, FUNNY reads! I don’t think they should feel obligated to cancel the show but I think the TV special is a newsworthy opportunity to address some issues that are often overlooked in the media.

    P.S. Merry Christmas!

Personally, I think Ms. Spears has gone and done a stupid thing in front of the whole world, and that it’s something she is going to have to live with. But it also appears to be something that runs in their family ;D

  4. Why ignore it and cover it up. This is real life…we should not hide societies problems and challenges. Teenage pregnancy happens every day. Now it is someone well known, acknowledge it, but don’t accept it as ok. I do so hope that teens don’t get the message that this is cool or ok though. It needs to be talked about, not cancelled.
