Lest You Delete Me From Your Blogroll

I guess I’ve posted, what, four times in the past month? Oh, I just counted and it’s actually seven. Whoa.

I have things to say. I had this cool post formed in my head about protesting pre-labor day pumpkins. Because everywhere I went last week I saw pumpkins and Halloween stuff. My summer IS NOT OVER YET. It would have been a funny post, but I didn’t get to it before Labor Day and, well, it’s just kinda not timely anymore.

I’ve been working to get my fall schedule together. We’ve got gymnastics, swim lessons, baseball (maybe - there’s a waiting list), math club, art class, and a homeschool co-op that we are trying for the first time this year. I’m training to walk a half-marathon with my sister at the end of November and I’ve decided to quit drinking until then. I’ve been drinking too much lately. It makes me gain weight, act dumb, and neglect things. I may have a drink or two at my high school reunion in early October, though.

Time has gotten away from me the past month, but I’m ready to get back on track. I’m ready to revive some projects and get back to blogging. And since the summer is almost over, I’ll be able to redesign my blog again! Woo hoo!

Then you really wouldn’t like the Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations I saw out at Wal-Mart tonight!

Yes, the Halloween stuff and the xmas stuff is everywhere already. It’s crazy!

I agree with the pre-labor day pumpkins. When browsing at the mall yesterday it felt just plain wrong to be looking at Xmas ornaments! Good luck with getting ready for your marathon!

Last year we had a pumpkin for the 4th of July! But it was a volenteer from my garden. I thought it was a watermelon at first. So we brought it in, let it “orange-up” and carved a 4th of July jack-o-lantern,
complete with flags. The kids loved it.

You are so right about the pumpkin thing. There’s a house down the street from work that has a full Halloween montage up already. Pumpkins, cemetery plots, a big Frankenstein blow-up thing. It’s crazy!

Yes, what is WITH the pre-labor day pumpkins.

One of my neighbors tho brought out the fake christmas trees they put up on their porch every year…

Hope that reunion is a blast!
