Batman Does the Macarena

Life is good.
My fall schedule is in place, my babysitter comes back next week, my daughter is nearing full potty-trained status, we’ve been taking some fun day trips recently, and I’m feeling terrific.
We went to Six Flags yesterday. I haven’t been to a good theme park in four years and it was tons of fun.
Here are the kids on a boat ride. L was so sweet riding all the kiddie rides with his sister.

C loved the swing ride. She kept yelling “This is SO much fun!!”

L and I went on this totally fantastic water slide! You climb up to the top, get in a tube and take a steep drop into a funnel-like water slide. Sweet!!

We stayed to close the park. There was a DJ and the characters were doing all kinds of dances. The Electric Slide, the Macarena, and some I don’t really know the names of. Batman (sweaty pits and all) doing the macarena is quite entertaining.

The kids had a great time dancing.

I love that my kids are getting older and we can do more things like this. Outside of the discipline issues, I enjoy parenting older kids more than infants/toddlers. So far…

Souns like fun. I LOVE the shot of the kids dancing!
I laughed out loud over the “so far…” Always good to cover your bases.
I’m with you: I so enjoy older kids…you can do so much more with them!
That looks like it was SO MUCH FUN. Yeay for you all.
My daughter was so excited last year to be able to go on her first real roller coaster ride with mom. Over and over again. She still talks about it!
great pics.looks like fun!
I miss when my kids were little, but I have really enjoyed the teen years.
Benefits to your kids getting older
You can discuss books you like with them.
You can visit interesting places with them, and they can carry your luggage.
You can go away with hubby without having to find a sitter.
Disadvantage
They leave home and you miss them. My eldest moves into his dorm room Saturday.
What a great day!!! My kids went on a similar water slide when I was with you at BlogHer! Of course, this one was called “The Flush” and it was a simulated toilet. So gross!
Looks as if you guys had a great day - I love that my kids are also at the age where we (okay, mostly me) can share in the fun - what, no roller coasters!?!
We’re having much more fun with the 9 and 11 year olds. The only drawback is the pre-teen angst.
It looks like they ahd a blast!
I love Six Flags! I always want to go every summer and then I remember I have a toddler who gets irritable quite easily!
Oh, honestly, right now I’m living vicariously through you. This infant/toddler gig is really rough. Tough, actually. And I KNOW it gets better but seeing someone say it? Totally helps.
Kids dancing is like poetry in motion. You should submit a Haiku about it at Absolutely Bananas. That’s where I saw you listed.
