Have More Fun Traveling With Kids: Try Parentography
We travel a good amount and for a couple years we’ve kept a notebook in our car where we detail the exits off the interstate that have kid-friendly, clean, quality restaurants and rest rooms. So when I heard about Parentography, I said “What a super idea!” (Then I said, “Damn, I wish I had thought of that!”)
Parentography is a newly-launched online resource for parents who want honest advice, tools, tips and ideas for family excursions, whether they plan to travel across town or across the country. It’s a free online community where parents can share experiences. From their site:
Parents can share stories, photos, excursion ideas, ratings and reviews on all sorts of family-friendly places and activities. They can search for things to do by location, season, children’s age and other important factors. Parents can comment on other parents’ ideas and suggestions, look up the profiles of the parents who posted each review or excursion to learn more about them and their families, and use the interactive map to discover new adventures right under their noses. Parentography takes some of the risk and guesswork out of new adventures. Let other parents’ experiences save you time and money and create more special moments with your kids!
Check out the site, and if you have your own travel tips to share, you could win a prize! They’re giving away US$100.00 to the person who writes the review or excursion that brings their total article count to any multiple of 100 and US$1,000.00 to the lucky Parentographer who contributes the 1,000th review or excursion.
I’m off to start contributing my tips!

PHAT = Parenting, Homeschooling And Technology. That about sums up my life at the moment.

Thanks, I will definitely visit that site. BTW - I have not really been around that often, but it is enjoyable to come by here everytime I get a chance to.

What a brilliant idea. I wish I had referred to it before we drove to Florida last month. Some of our most, um, colorful experiences came from roadside stops that promised they were clean, but were anything but.
Suffice to say I’m no longer a fan of British Petroleum.
