I Heart Disney Channel
Am I the only person over the age of 14 who watches Disney Channel… when her children aren’t home? The other day I was home alone scrapbooking and I found myself watching - and enjoying - an episode of Hannah Montana. Then Phil of the Future. Then The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
The tween-targeted sit-coms. The music. The movies. I don’t know exactly what it is, but I love it. Yeah, it’s a little embarrassing and I really need to know: Am I the only adult who hearts Disney Channel?
And, people? I am SO looking forward to the (key alto announcer voice) “world premiere of the Disney Channel Original Movie, Jump In!” Corbin Bleu. Yum.

Note: Sorry I’ve been missing lately. I’ve been cooking up one of those big “it’s a new year” posts and also getting started with a new blog design business. More on all that soon. We now return to our regularly scheduled blogging.

You’re not alone, although I am more of a The-N Degrassi fan.
I am sort of glad I have the work excuse to watch these shows sometimes. I don’t get the whole Hannah Montana thing, though. I know it’s huge, but that Miley Cyrus is so freaking LOUD, and Emily Osment looks like her brother in a wig. That Phil of the Future theme is pretty awesome, though.
And if you’ve never seen the EVEN STEVENS musical, boy, are you missing out.

That’s so funny. I turned it on one day when the kid’s weren’t home, and I thought I had finally gone crazy. I love Hannah and Phil.

And don’t forget “Thats So Raven” and “Even Stevens” (or is that Disney?)
Girlfriend is not much of a tv watcher anymore, but we certainly went through a period of DIsney-itis here. I ended up many evenings watching with her, as I do not like all the reality tv my DH enjoys.
I secretly look forward to when she is not feeling well and we spend the day snuggled up, doing the same?

Seconding Degrassi. Not that I have time to watch TV anymore.

I wish I could say I enjoyed these shows, but, *sigh* I don’t. They are on so much here that I REALLY get sick of them! I do think Raven from “That’s So Raven” is hilarious. Around here, if it’s not Disney on TV, it’s something with a score or one of those crime drama shows. I’ve been putting my foot down lately, though. We all a good Chick-flick once in a while!!

I love Phil of the Future! I think it’s the constant replays of all of the shows that does it. Kinda like a weird form of Disney torture. First they break you…then they suck you in.

If that’s the case, you should stop by my blog and enter to win High School Musical, remix edition!
Blog design business? I hope I can afford you.

I stayed up late to watch ‘High School Musical’ when I missed the first showing. I was the only one in the house watching it, too!

I watch Zack & Cody with my 5 year old son sometimes. It’s cute and a good fun show for him.

Even before “High School Musical” I was a sucker for Disney Channel tween movies. The one about the kid on the aircraft carrier? The one about the surfer who learns to snowboard? These are my people.

Yep - wrote about my love for Disney Channel, specifically Billy Cyrus - Hannah Montana’s on, right now.

Phatmommy,
I love your website, love your articles…loathe the Disney Channel and almost everything on it, lol. They grate on my every last nerve, especially The Suite Life.

We DVR’d Jump In but I havn’t had a chance to watch it yet. Hannah Montana is the best and I love Raven too. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched The Parent Trap! (Back when Lindsey Lohan was adorable).

My kids are into NickJr, and I’ll catch myself mid-stirring or mid-filling juice cups watching Dora and then I snap out of it. Thinking, what am I doing
It’s so funny though how we do that, I guess we’re so used to their shows and if they’re on, it’s so easy to just “get into them.”

I LOVED “High School Musical”… and would sing (much to the chagrin of my then-fourteen-year-old son!) “Keep Your Head in the Game” to the boys on our Under 15 Football team. When your youngest (and only) is 15, it’s hard to defend (ever) having the TV on Disney. THAT is why I offer to babysit my niece when I can. My son and husband would probably put me away if they found me watching Hannah Montana on my own!!
(PS-Found you while searching out other more open-minded homeschooling moms… it’s good to know I’m not the only one!)

I love the Disney Channel, too, along with ABC Family and Boomerang. Like you, I watch it even if my kids aren’t around, although that annoys the heck out of my hubby. He can’t understand why I’d watch anything that doesn’t have boobs, beer or bombs in it, and I can’t understand why it surprises him to find me sniffling over all of the feel-good shows on those channels!

You are SOOOOO NOT alone in this…I actually have to hide the fact that I still love it from my friends because they make fun of me and call me immature and stuff like that…but you are SOOOO not alone!
