Snot, but Not Stitches
Amalah over at Mom’s Daily Dose was talking about all the snot that’s going around this time of year. I left a comment on her post and then thought it might be a nice update for my own blog.
My daughter has a cold of the thick yellow snot gooped around her nostrils type, accompanied by coughing until she gags. I woke up yesterday feeling like a truck hit me head-on. THEN my husband smacked his head on the sharp edge of the molding in a doorway and put a gash in his forehead that needed to be surgically glued. Luckily, no stitches. Yeah, Merry Christmas.

Did they use Dermabond? That’s one of my favorite words.

Not to be too gruesome, but with your snot talk I thought I’d add my own story. I knew before this happened that our faces are pretty well connected, like some sort of series of pipes just past the front of our skull. Apparently though, as my youngest showed us last year, if a child’s nose gets too congested, the snot may force itself out elsewhere. We assumed the cold was normal until his eyes kept getting gummed closed, among other things. Yes, the snot was coming out his poor little eyes.

Ugh. I hope everyone feels better soon. Colds seem to be developing over here too, but I am hoping they leave quickly as we leave for Houston on Monday. Go RU!
