I am a Powerhouse

Like most people (at least I think), I go through times when I am dissatisfied and times when I am supremely satisfied. Right now it is the latter. I really love where I am in life right now. This is a photo of the kids after we got home from shopping today — and see that brown box in the lower right corner? iMac!!
I have not been stressing about getting things done, but I’ve been getting tons done. Today I bought about 1/4 of the holiday gifts I need, found 90% of the party supplies for L’s upcoming birthday, unpacked three boxes of large wood pieces that will soon be assembled into our new entertainment unit, and set up our new iMac. I even did an “extendable ears” science project with L. I rock.
When I’m not stressed about a project, the kids have much more fun and behave better, too. Tonight L helped me sort the hardware for the entertainment unit and C jumped on the boxes. If I were stressed, I might want them out of my hair, making less noise, and not touching everything. But just allowing them to be involved and be with me enabled me to get more done.
Wow. Dude. More paradoxes. It’s so deep here at PHAT Mommy.

Congratulations on the iMac! You should set aside a couple of hours every day for playing with Photo Booth
It’s the kind of fun that makes my 29-year-old brother giggle like a little girl.
