On Blogging

I just wrote 3/4 of a post about time management. Then I erased it because it was taking up too much of my fucking time. Seriously. When a blog post ceases to be fun and becomes work, it’s time for me to call it quits. I blog for fun. I blog so I can share my feelings with people who actually care enough to come back for more. I blog as a means of creating a personal family archive. I blog to pass on information that I feel is important. So when a blog post starts to feel like pulling teeth, it’s time for the delete key.
Tonight I played Uno with L and cuddled with C while she coughed on me and rubbed snot all over my shoulder. And then there’s this:

All those pieces. Eleven (multi-step) steps to assembly. Instructions written in English by someone whose native tongue is surely not English. I shall triumph over the entertainment unit.

PHAT = Parenting, Homeschooling And Technology. That about sums up my life at the moment.

If all else fails, you have a nice start on the firewood pile for winter!

I let the kids build their own bookcases last year, as I sat with coffee giggling. It was hysterical as they worked out the process together, and at 11 & 14 complained about the idiot who wrote the directions! My only regret is that I didn’t take pictures! I have to say, they did a great job!
BTW, I agree about the blogging. My best blogs are when I write about something I love, not something I am struggling with myself. Have a great weekend!
