I think the idea of the freedom would get her wandering around her room with her blanket, and she would just fall asleep whereever she was. We did the transition in summer, so I didn't worry about her getting a chill. I did end up unzipping a large sleeping bag and putting it on her floor for a few weeks at bedtime, and she would tell me "Time to camp" for weeks when I did it. I would find her in the morning, with stuffed animals pulled from teh baskets and lining all the edges of the sleeping bag, like she quietly played herself to sleep. Girlfriend did that too! She wouldn't go to sleep in her bed, around 22 months, so she slept in a sleeping bag on the floor for a few weeks. Then we converted her crib to a toddler bed, and she slept there, or on the floor.
