My Morning Coffee

11-4-06coffee

This morning I was inspired by Chookooloonks to post a photo of my favorite coffee mugs (her photos are gorgeous, check her out). The one on the left is my “I write bloggity goodness” mug (you can get your very own here!), which makes me feel “official” when I sit down at my laptop to write. I’m officially working. I’m officially a writer. I’m officially off the mommy-clock.

The middle mug is deocrated with a pretty purple flower and was a gift from my son and husband. It makes me feel loved. And it’s big, which is very important when it comes to coffee.

The right mug is my “Worldlearner” mug, sold by me through Zazzle. It makes me feel creative and proud of the choices I’ve made in my life.

The photo also shows our commercial-sized coffee maker, a gift to my husband for our anniversary several years ago. I love this machine from the depths of my soul. Each morning it lovingly brews smooth, hot coffee in record time, soothing my sleep-deprived body and filling our kitchen with a wonderful aroma.

Today we are off for a busy day of birthday-partying and baseball-gaming. It’s the final game of L’s fall baseball league. As I look out my window, I see the leaves are no longer their bright orangey-red, but mostly brown and falling fast. November is here and with it comes birthday party-planning, holiday card-making, and holiday gift-buying. Each year I try to enjoy the process and keep the stress to a minimum. I’m rarely successful. But I do have high hopes and the best-laid plans.

I have a Starbucks Barista espresso machine that I too love in a way that I didn’t know I could love an appliance. :)

My mugs are boring. My kid’s water bottles and plastic cups take up all the good mug space.

I came over from NaBloPoMo….the jingle belly t-shirt is hilarious! If I were pregnant, I would definitely buy it!

When I saw this photo, my first thought was “GOOD LORD, THAT IS THE MOTHER OF ALL COFFEE MACHINES.”

Nice mugs, btw. No euphemism intended.

    :p
