Whew!

My initial observations on caring for three children (ages 8, 2 and 2 months):

  • You have to be really organized when leaving the house so you don’t forget any diapers, bottles, change of clothes, sippy cups, snacks, blankies, etc.
  • You have to leave yourself an extra 30 minutes to actually get out of the house.
  • You have to accept that someone is always going to need something from you.

We took all three kids to L’s baseball game today. If PHAT Daddy wasn’t there, I wouldn’t have been able to keep track of C while feeding my baby nephew. I wonder if that “scattered” feeling goes away after awhile when you have 3 or more children?

Here’s a photo of me and my nephew. Good night. Zzzzzzz….

No. The scattered feeling doesn’t go away. I’ve had three for three years now, and my brain has not recovered! LOL

Don’t give that baby a cupcake. Her mother might get really, really mad.

Same with me - three for three years - the scattered feeling does not go away! I keep hoping it will when they get older.

I get the feeling it won’t be until they are all out-of-the-house older, though!

I can not even imagine juggling three. I have enough trouble with two. I think it’s the way they gang up on me. :)

My three are 10, 9, and 5. The light at the end of the tunnel is a train- it just moves slower than I thought 4 years ago!

I think it will always be hard. Thankfully I have a blog to write and blogs to read or I would “wash out” with the laundry.

Hey! You survived it. Congratulations. With my 4 somebody definitely always needs something… and I’m always scattered. Planning and allowing lots of time is key… as in a trip to WalMart is ALL I can accomplish in one day. Glad you had fun with Han!

The scattered feeling eases up as they get older. I have 4 - ages 10, 6, 4 and 3. The two little ones still leave me feeling scattered but the two older ones balance it.

Three is tough. The scattered feeling only starts to abate after the youngest gets to about three (right now for me). It’s especially tough in the winter when you can’t go outside so much.

Everything gets slowed down to the ‘lowest common denominator’ so you have to be careful to have things that are age appropriate for the bigger ones to do, so that you are not always saying, “No, it’s too cold for the baby, no we can’t do that right now because of the baby…” etc.

The mother would only get mad if the baby had already JUST had a cupcake and the aunt didn’t ask…

Sorry to hijack your blog! He is too cute. And I am definitely not up for three, I am barely surviving two…
