She’ll Be Such a Loving Mommy

As parents, we all have those moments when we look at our children and realize they are very shiny mirrors. They can perfectly – and unnervingly – reflect our own personality traits. And then there are times when you just wonder, “Where DID you learn to act THAT way?”
My daughter got a baby doll for her birthday. Today she was feeding the baby when she suddenly threw the bottle across the room and starting slamming the baby against the floor. I looked at her, mouth agape, and said, “Hey! What are you doing to your baby? She’s going to get a boo boo!”
She considered this for a nanosecond, putting the baby down on a pillow. Then she started pounding the baby on the chest.
I had to repress the urge to laugh at this point. C was giggling insanely. So I said, “Why are you hurting the baby?”
C responded, “Aw, baby’s sick.” Then she gave it a hug. A tight, gritting-her-teeth, evil-type hug, shown in this photo.
If my sister is reading this, she’s probably pretty nervous right now. Seeing as how I’ll be caring for her 2 month old son for four days in October. Don’t worry sis, I promise not to leave C alone with him…
