It’s in the Mail, er- Garbage

I made a nice birthday card from my Grandma the other day. I put it at the bottom of the stairs so I would remember to bring it up to the office and put postage on it.

Today I suddenly remembered that I never mailed the card and, in fact, had not seen it since I put it on the stairs. I wandered into the office, just to make sure PHAT Daddy had taken care of it. “No, I didn’t see it,” he told me.

I searched the house to no avail. I began to suspect foul play, so I checked the garbage.

There it was, under the leftover dinner scraps.

So, dear Grandma, your birthday card will be late because your great-granddaughter - yes, the one I named after you - has thrown your card in the garbage.

Alright, so scrape off the coffee grinds and the pencil shavings and mail it to poor ol’ granny. Believe me, she’ll understand. Between being a Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma, there’s a lot of experience with this same sort of thing. And many other things we haven’t experienced yet with our tweens! OMG, THAT’S scary!! LOL!
