Moving in the Right Direction
I have lots happening right now and I’d love to write a fabulous post that puts it all together in a witty and entertaining way. However, I am literally falling asleep at my laptop right now. So here’s the abbreviated version that I will attempt to expand upon in the very near future. Just not tonight. Must. Sleep.
New sitter! Here today!! Kids love her!!! What did I do? Cleaned the toilets, emptied the dishwasher, read some email and got dinner started. I am so living on the edge.
Sunrise Boot Camp! Tomorrow!! 5 AM at the gym!!! Yes, I have signed up (read: paid a good chuck o’change) for a “boot camp” class at my health club. I need to jump start my exercise program, so an athletic trainer will be kicking my ass two mornings a week for the next six weeks. An hour of exercise and 1/2 hour in the pool. If you don’t hear from me for a few days you’ll know that I am in bed, paralyzed by muscle pain. (Hmmmm… that doesn’t sound all that bad. See how much I need a vacation?)
Tonight’s Rachael Ray meal, Chicken & Dumplings, was disappointing. It didn’t taste terrible, but it didn’t get the thumbs up in this house. And it took us AN HOUR to prepare. Hello? 30 Minute Meals?? You have to peel and/or chop potato, carrot, celery, and onion, as well as cut the chicken into chunks and roll it in flour. You put it all in a pan with some chicken broth and then drop in spoonfuls of bisquick mix to make the “dumplings.” The result is a mushy mess. Not at all appealing to look at. My son ate about half his serving though and we decided that we’ll try this one again but use Pillsbury biscuits for a drier, flakier dumpling.
Finally, be sure to welcome my new renter, Mommy Off the Record. I’ll give her a proper introduction tomorrow but for now, just click over there in the right column and check her out!

PHAT = Parenting, Homeschooling And Technology. That about sums up my life at the moment.

Isn’t there a Sundown boot camp? That 5 am thing would kill me! Good for you, girl! I’m sure you’ll be solid as a rock in no time.
