One thing that might help your life is to gather up all the crayons and keep them on the top of the refrigerator or some such inaccessible place. Then allow the children to use them only at the table or some other designated spot (and let Leia use them only under supervision). After use, they'd have to be returned to their official storage space. This is just a thought, of course -- each parent has their own style of doing things. And of course, once Leia gets older and more responsible, you could loosen up again.

Is it wrong to laugh as I read this? I do so only because I find myself thinking "oh yeah, I am so with you on this one!"

I'm here reading of your day as I hide from my children having just lost it already once this morning (it's not even 9am). My husband is away for three more days and the boy decides to eat yogurt on the couch so he can watch Bob the Builder as I make muffins for us. He gets it all over himself and the couch cushion. I tell him to take the yogurt to the table and he says...."No, I want to eat here." What?! Ok, so you see. Frazzled, tried mom = meltdown.

Thanks for letting me vent. Didn't want to take over your blog here, just wanted to comisserate.

Sounds like you've got your hands full! Leia sounds a lot like my son. Having him was the best thing I've ever done, but it has also been the hardest thing I've ever done. I think that's why we never had another child. This one has worn us out! We both love him dearly, but each day has been a challenge as well as a joy. Terrible 2s started at 18 months and lasted until 1st grade, and every once in a while...they come back!!
