Bloggers Block Broken

I’ve had a serious case of Bloggers Block for the past month, which may account for my obsession with re-designing my blog. I just haven’t had the desire to think about anything long enough to formulate a coherent post, so I just tinker away with the code and the graphics.

I’m now over my winter blahs. I’m getting into a good workout groove, I’ve made some personal decisions that maybe I will share with you at a later date, my sister is pregnant, my 3-day scrapbooking retreat is only 3 months away and my birthday is in just a couple weeks!

So tonight, I’m in the mood to write and I’d like to tell you a story. Several months ago, I wanted to move my blog from Blogger to WordPress. I decided to hire someone to help. I wanted some snazzy graphics and to learn the more advanced coding (well, more advanced for me, anyway) that is used by WordPress.

I perused my favorite blogs and the designers that made them pretty. I settled on a company called Web Divas. And no, I will not provide a link to them because they RIPPED ME OFF! I was told they could work with me in about 2 weeks. Two months and a couple emails later, I realized it was not going to happen. My emails were ignored – oh, wait, I did get one email from them when I posted a polite inquiry on the personal blog of one of the thieves designers. She told me she would “look into it.” Mmm Hmm. I sent them a Paypal request to refund my money and, of course, got no response. Yes, I paid up front because, well, because that’s what all the designers demand. I guess they’ve been burned, too.

So I proceeded to teach myself how to set up the WordPress blog, but there was still something missing. I was not up to speed on the coding. And the graphics simply didn’t reflect “me.” So I went, with trepidation, in search of someone new to work with.

I’ve found a wonderful girl named Karen who responds to my emails (quickly!) and so far has been super to work with. And I WILL give you a link to her web site, Troll Baby. Stay tuned for yet another skin that will, hopefully, be “The One.”
