Update on My Girl
C is now 17 months old and - hallelujah - she is starting to roll over and get into a sitting position on her own! In fact, now that she’s discovered she can do these new moves, she repeatedly falls flat on her back, rolls over and squirms up to sitting, giggling like a mad-man the whole time.
As I’ve mentioned in a previous post, we’ve gone through the early intervention channels and C is now receiving physical therapy twice a month. She can stand for a few moments, holding on to the couch, with no assistance. She’s progressing quickly and every day she is moving closer to the wonderful world of toddling.
While my son has always been rather quiet and sensitive, my daughter is a fireball of energy and drama. She’s into everything - grabbing, pulling, poking, slapping, hugging, and kissing. She’s got some serious vocabulary for her age and she loves to sing. And let me tell you, it is absolutely hysterical to hear her sing. She bobs her head back and forth and jigs her shoulders from side to side. Priceless, I tell you.
She loves Jack’s Big Music Show on Noggin. We sing along with all the songs and then she says “Again?” and we have to rewind it. Sometimes we have to find a Tivo’d episode and put on the music and rewind it over and over. Can’t wait until they come out with a CD of music from that show. She’ll also sing along with the LazyTown songs, as well as the theme songs for her brother’s favorite shows, Teen Titans and Kim Possible.
C is finally sleeping through the night, although she has an annoying habit of waking up at 5:30 am. I stumble into her room and try to coax her back to sleep, but she’s all like “Hi Mommy! Elmo? Baby? Cookie? Book?”
What can I say to that? ![]()

Thanks for blogmarking me on BE. Ironically, I was homeschooled. Your daughter is a cutie.

Jack’s Music Show is a favorite at our house too! I have a bin full of insrtuments for the kids that I take out for them during the show and they go to town with them. I hope they do come out with a DVD. We TIVO it also. Laurie Berkner has a DVD coming out in March. Dan Zanes also has one out that my kids love. My older son always asks to watch that “guy from Noggin”.
