Oprah Update

Just a quick update for those who thought Oprah’s exclusion of homeschoolers was an oversight:

“We asked whether or not they could make an amendment to the rules to allow homeschoolers to participate, and they were not willing to do that,” [said Ian Slatter, a spokesman for HSLDA].

According to Slatter, the Oprah organization would not commit to allowing homeschooled students to participate in future contests.

    Her contest, her rules I guess.
    Unless it was an innocent omission, which could’ve been easily rectified once brought to her attention, there has to be another reason.
    I’d keep looking.

    Maybe her/their judgment is “clouded” as it was with the whole recent James Frey debacle. It would be nice to know why. Please post if you find out…also let us know how the Princess is doing.
