Getting Personal

It’s been said that you can make a permanent change in as little as six weeks. I’m going to test that theory.

I’ve got three goals to accomplish by January 1st. Without going into too much detail, I’ll simply say that I’ve spent too much time letting myself go and wallowing in post-partum depression. When your days aren’t somewhat structured, it’s so easy to just do nothing. As the saying goes, “When you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” By 2006, I want changes.

My Goals:
1. Lose 10 pounds (exercise regularly and develop better eating habits)
2. Develop a solid sleep pattern (going to bed at a specific time and weaning The Princess from nursing)
3. Implement a family schedule (this is already well under way)

I plan to occasionally post updates on my progress, as well as offer any useful information that may help you along a similar journey. Wish me luck.

the theory is that it takes 3 weeks of repetition for any activity/change to become a “habit”

    good luck

I need to join you in this challenge. It would be nice to begin the new year with some good habits replacing all the bad.

If I haven’t said it yet, LOVE the new look.

I’m joinin’ this support group, too…My new motto is “Fit in my Forties,” as I turn 40 in late January. (Listen to that pathetic plea in my voice, “late” January!) I am trying for “Bedtime by 1 a.m.” as my sleep improvement (yes, that would be an improvement!), and want to shed 5 pounds by that 40th birthday, with better eating/exercise habits on the way by then, too.
