A Night in My House

  • 11:15 pm: Go to sleep
  • 12:19 am: Awakened by L, who is crying because his toe hurts because he dropped a large can of pineapple on it earlier in the day
  • 2:47 am: Awakened by C, who is not happy about being sideways in the crib with her head and feet against the rails
  • 4:05 am: Awakened by L, who had a “bad dream”
  • 5:41 am: Awakened by C, who thinks it is time to get up for the day but Mommy disagrees so she fusses a bit and falls back to sleep
  • 8:09 am: Awakened by L. Ah, rise and shine for another wonderful, energetic day!

I swear I am not making this up. And it’s like this just about every night. My body is so used to it that I wake up every two hours even if the younglings don’t wake me up. {Yawn.}

    Where is the Master during all of this? Can you share night duty with him?

    We do, but it’s not so much about the actual “duty” as it is about waking up. Even if he gets up to comfort the children, I still wake up. Ditto for him. The kids go back to sleep very quickly, but getting them to STAY asleep is proving quite the challenge.

    yes, I know the feeling. I consider myself lucky if I only get up once or twice (I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old).
